The Falla Paseo Alameda – Avenida de Francia Presents Its Projects for the 2027 Fallas

The most entertaining madness and a battle on a chessboard take center stage in the proposals by Álex López and the Martínez Velló Brothers.

Last night, Saturday, October 17, the Falla Paseo Alameda – Avenida de Francia held a presentation of the sketches for its 2027 Fallas, unveiling the artistic proposals with which the committee will fill the streets of Valencia with creativity, ingenuity, and satire next March.

Two projects with their own distinct personalities that embrace humor, fantasy, and Fallas-style satire, with Roberto REM serving as the scriptwriter and critic for both monuments.

“¡Quin goig és estar boig!”, a fun-filled madness by Álex López

The 2027 children’s falla will bear the slogan “¡Quin goig és estar boig!” and will be the work of artist Álex López, while Roberto REM will handle the script and commentary.

The proposal invites us to step into a universe where madness—understood in its most fun and absurd form—takes center stage.

Popular expressions like “to be out of one’s mind,” “to be out of one’s depth,” or “to have lost a screw” will come to life through various scenes and characters. Among them we’ll find the well-known Mad Hatter, while Frankenstein will also take center stage, proving that even he has lost a screw or two.

A journey brimming with imagination and humor that plays with the phrases we commonly use to describe the most absurd situations.

With this production, Álex López opts for a lighthearted children’s Falla, where wordplay and absurd situations will allow both children and adults to enjoy a theme that’s relatable and familiar.

“Batalles i Batalletes,” a chess game where the queen will behead opponents

For its part, the large falla will bear the motto “Batalles i Batalletes” and will be created by the Martínez Velló Brothers, with the concept, script, and commentary by Roberto REM.

The project transports us to a giant chessboard, a setting where strategies, confrontations, and power struggles take center stage.

In this particular game, the queen will play a prominent role and will not hesitate to behead opponents—an image that adds a touch of dark humor and opens the door to the satire characteristic of the Fallas.

Chess thus becomes the central theme of a piece in which every move can trigger a new battle and where the pieces represent that constant interplay of confrontations, decisions, and rivalries.

Under the slogan “Batalles i Batalletes,” the Martínez Velló Brothers present a falla that combines the visual power of a chessboard with the critical possibilities of a world in which everyone seems to want to win the game.

The countdown to the 2027 Fallas begins

With the presentation of both sketches, the Falla Paseo Alameda – Avenida de Francia takes another step toward the 2027 Fallas, an event where art, tradition, and creativity will once again come together in the streets of Valencia.

The most entertaining madness of “¡Quin goig és estar boig!” and the strategic battles of “Batalles i Batalletes” will define two very different proposals, yet united by ingenuity and Fallas-style satire.

Now begins the wait to discover how these ideas come to life and are transformed into the monuments we’ll be able to admire during the upcoming Fallas week.

From Essència i Cor, we wish the committee, its artists, and all the creative teams a magnificent 2027 Fallas season.
