Young Fallera Mayor of Valencia

Julia Vizcayno Orero, Child Fallera Mayor of Valencia 2027: a dream come true.

Some names are destined to leave a lasting mark on the history of the Fallas, and one such name is Julia Vizcayno Orero, the new Child Fallera Mayor of Valencia for 2027. Her smile, her sweetness, and her passion for the festival have won the hearts of the entire fallero community, which has welcomed her with immense affection.

The ringing of a phone at the casal (clubhouse) of the Falla Rosario – Plaza Calabuig—part of the Canyamelar–Grau–Nazaret sector—marked the beginning of a dream Julia will remember forever. From that moment on, her life has taken an exciting turn, as she has become the primary child representative of the Fallas of Valencia.

A fallera since birth, Julia has been deeply involved in her group’s activities, participating in parchís (board game) tournaments, playbacks (lip-sync performances), and the traditional Cant de l’Estoreta. She has also shown a keen interest in culture and artistic expression by taking part in the Declamación (recitation) contest organized by the Junta Central Fallera. Her long-standing commitment and connection to the festival have earned her the Distintiu d’Or (Gold Badge).

She is currently in the fifth year of primary school at the Cambridge House British International School, where she balances her studies with a variety of hobbies. She is a great sports enthusiast—especially when it comes to soccer—and plays for the Marítim women’s team. She also dedicates time to Brazilian jiu-jitsu and music, as she is learning to play the piano.

Among all the events on the Fallas calendar, the Exaltación (the formal presentation ceremony) holds a very special place in her heart. This year, during her tenure as the Fallera Mayor Infantil for her own group, she experienced one of her most moving moments when her own brother—with whom she shared the role of representing their Falla—was the one to bestow her ceremonial sash.

Her connection to Valencian traditions extends beyond the Fallas. Since birth, she has participated in the Semana Santa Marítima (Maritime Holy Week) as a member of the Hermandad de Cristo de La Palma (Brotherhood of Christ of La Palma), where she takes part both as a biblical character and as a penitent.

The spirit of the Fallas also plays a significant role within her family. Her mother, Marta Orero, served on the Court of Honor for the Fallera Mayor of Valencia in 2004—a connection that links two generations through a shared passion for the Fallas.

Julia now has a year ahead of her filled with events, gatherings, and experiences that will allow her—alongside her Court of Honor—to gain an even deeper understanding of the richness of our traditions.

At Essència i Cor, we would like to congratulate Julia Vizcayno Orero on her selection and wish her the joy of savoring every single moment of this wonderful journey.

May the excitement that fills her heart today remain with her throughout her entire reign, and may the 2027 Fallas become an unforgettable memory for her and her family.
